Things parents to be will love...
The baby buying usually happens fairly early into pregnancy for most people so by the time a baby shower comes around, it's not always easy thinking of what to buy someone. I have put together a list of what I think are 7 great ideas for baby shower gifts. I guarantee these will get an "AWWWW" reaction.
A baby memory book
This is such a lovely gift that parents can write special memories in, all about milestones, to keep photos in and be able to gift to their child one day in the future to look back on. I particularly love this one I found on Etsy 'Luxury Baby Memory Book - My Baby Journal' I am sure this will not only give great pleasure to the new parents to write down and keepsake all those precious first memories, but will also be wonderful for baby to have as they grow up.
Personalised gift
Baby's name is not always known until they're born, however some parents can't wait to share their baby's name before. If you know baby's name, why not order a personalised gift? It is always cute to have items with baby's name on and is a very personal way of welcoming them into the world. Eco baby gifts

Baby clothes in larger sizes
Yes, yes, yes, we all love the iddy, biddy, tiny, newborn clothes as they're just so dinky and cute, but practically, they might not even get worn! And even if they do, it may only be once or twice as babies grow so fast in the first month of life. How about buying some clothes or baby grows that are 3-6 or even 6-9 months? That way, when sleepy parents aren't really feeling going out and buying new baby clothes when they're needed, they will already have a few items stocked away. You can find some super cute baby wear at Next, Nutmeg, H&M, Zara and many more.
New Pjs or a dressing gown for mum
We can't forget the very long nights and extremely tired days that follow the birth of a newborn. This is why a comfy pair of new pjs or a nice, fluffy dressing gown may be a super idea for a pressie for a new Mum. I would suggest buying her regular sized clothes rather than maternity ones as she will want to be able to wear them after birth. Some of my favourite pjs for comfort are from Matalan. They are light and airy, and wash really well in my opinion. You will also find gorgeous pjs in places like Next, M&S and the Supermarket chains.
A handmade hamper
A lovely gesture is to make up a hamper to gift. You could do this on your own or put together with friends to create a more elaborate gift that is totally personalised to the recipient. The kind of things you could include in it are:
- Muslins
- Nappy cream and nappy bags
- Bath soak (for Mum)
- A gift card for a takeaway - we all know how much you do not feel like cooking in that first week
- Choccies
- Teabags and/or coffee
- Baby hairbrush
- Bibs
- Toy
- Infacol - always handy if needed!
You will know the recipients best so have a think about the kinds of things they like and what would suit them more. Honestly, they'll love the hamper but probably love the time and effort you put in, more!

Of course I would say this as this is my little business. However, many parents to be are so busy on the run up to having a new baby that they don't think ahead to things like this. Babies change so much in those first few weeks and many don't even resemble what they looked like when first born at all. Having a photo session helps preserve timeless memories and gives something to look back on in years to come, as one of the happiest moments of their life.
