Where does the training session take place?
Who are these sessions for?
Do I need to bring my own camera and equipment?
Will we be working with real newborns?
Do you cover editing in Photoshop as well?
Will I get to use the images I have taken?
Do you offer ongoing mentoring after the course?
The sessions will take place in my home studio in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The address will be given via the contract signed to participate.
My mentoring is designed for photographers who already understand how to use their camera in manual mode, but want to specialise in newborn photography. Whether you're brand new to this or looking to refine your skills, you'll benefit from learning my posing flows, lighting placements, and safety first approach.
Yes, please bring your own camera, lens and memory card. This ensures you're practicing with what you need in your own real sessions. All lighting, props and posing equipment will be provided in the studio.
For full day sessions and the two-day intensive, we will work with either a newborn model or a StandinBaby (depending on availability.)
This gives you safe, hands on practice with guidance. Half day theory sessions are classroom style with no live posing.
Editing will be touched upon in the full day and two-day intensive, with a quick walkthrough of skin tones and finishing touches but a NEW training course will be developed later in the year that focuses specifically on this.
Yes, any images captured during practical sessions can be used for your portfolio and social media (with credit given to the training session and permission from parents.) This is a great way to start showcasing your newborn work.
Yes - I offer optional follow-up portfolio reviews.
