Coronavirus Outbreak
Well, here I am, writing my first blog post. I didn't know it would start off with something so serious but I felt that now was probably a good time to start.
So we are just entering a really scary time in the world after an outbreak of a virus has happened. Tonight saw our Government announce that all schools in the UK will be closing until further notice as of Friday to try and help reduce the spread of this illness and to also provide care for children of our frontline workers who will undoubtedly be up against a terrific battle when this virus outbreak rises.
As a photographer, I have taken the decision to close temporarily. This was an easy one for me to make in all honesty though. The safety of my clients, their newborns, their families and of course my own family was paramount to me. Yes, I could keep on top of thorough cleaning in-between sessions however, handling babies and greeting new faces through the door every day was not an option for me right now.
We don't know enough about this virus yet, about how it is spread and about who is most at risk. We have been given some information about who is vulnerable but I wasn't prepared to take that risk. Everyone is important to me. I must say, I am happy to have my two girls home with me now and know that I am doing my part to protect them as much as I can do. But as for work, I won't be able to for a while.
So, I will be writing a blog, about all things really as I want to show all the sides of my life at Erin Kate Photography. My work, my family, being a working mom, my tips and tricks, my thoughts and just generally things about me. I hope you enjoy checking in from time to time and getting to know me and I know I will enjoy writing content to show my life behind my lens!
